The commonly used term, 'intellectual' can take on many shades and cover human qualities or activities often overlapping. Much of the pastoral and educational work mentioned in this report has been carried out by outstandingly intelligent and thoughtful Jesuits. Their planning, decisions and insights have often been carried out with much research and discussion. They would be surprised to be called 'intellectual'. There would be Ph D thesis material in the annual speeches of school Principals, in parish diaries, and in the publications of Hazaribag Jesuits in the field of mathematics, language and sociology and history. However to fill in the picture some of the more outstanding research writings might be mentioned.
