Bartua has a strong group of Catholic families with seven Mass centers. The youth are cooperative; each year some girls are sent for nursing training. Boitka has 55 families in 8 Mass Centres, each centre is getting a monthly mass.

One Jesuit and four Handmaid Sisters. Their areas of work are: pastoral work; the school; the hostel; health work; self-help projects
D) Pakripath: Church:- Parish of St. Francis Xavier
There are 10 Catholic villages, with 825 families. Ethnic groups are: Assurs, Korwas, Brijias; and Uraon. All the Asur children in the hostel are from Gumla District. The Mahila Sang and Yuva Sang are singled out as cooperative. The Asurs have land but prefer working in the bauxite mines.

The long established pattern of regular Masses in villages is followed. There are two pre-marriage seminars each year and annual classes for first communion and confirmation. There are monthly meetings o f catechists, Mahila Sang and Catholic Sabha and Parish Council. Chechari Aam sabha is held twice a year.
F) Tundtoli: Church:- Parish of Mary Mother of God

Tuntoli runs on the same structure of strategic planning which has been modelled several years ago for the Chechari. That structure is born out of the age-old tested governing system of the tribal administration.
G) Balidih: Church:- St. Louis
Began :- 1990
Parish Priest:- Fr. James Dungdung SJ
Mixed population of salaried and daily wage earners. Some are therefore much better off than others. Most are migrants from other parts of Jharkhand. Holy Cross and Balidih are the two Mass Centres, but once a month all come to Balidih for mass. Mahila Sangh, Catholic Sabha and Yuva Sangh are functional.
H) Ghato: Church:- Began:- 1991

12 Mass centres. 212 Catholic families. Masses are offered every Sunday in Kuju School, every other Sunday in Ghato and Kedla.
